I've decided that backs are the most bullshit part of the human body. Seems like everyone I know over the age of 40 has had SOME level of back problems.

No, really. He took 1 entire plane full of American food. To Italy!

Other than game-specific ones like Scarab for Hollow Knight and Olympus for Celeste, my next guess would be maybe R2ModMan. Hard to say for sure, as I've not seen what the userspace is like on the Deck specifically, but on Linux in general, I've had good experiences with those

That's just the weight of the world
We do what we must to get by
That's just the weight of the world
The weak and the weary will never survive
That's just the weight of the world
We do what we must to stay alive
That's just the weight of the world

the problem with working with any non-trivial dataset of any kind, is that you can almost always write code to process 95% of the entries in a short period. then it takes 10 times as long to handle the remaining 5% of weird outliers

"LLM did something bad, then I asked it to clarify/explain itself" is not critical analysis but just an illustration of magic thinking.

Those systems generate tokens. That is all. They don't "know" or "understand" or can "explain" anything. There is no cognitive system at work that could respond meaningfully.

That's the same dumb shit as what was found in Apple Intelligence's system prompt: "Do not hallucinate" does nothing. All the tokens you give it as input just change the part of the word space that was stored in the network. "Explain your work" just leads the network to lean towards training data that has those kinds of phrases in it (like tests and solutions). It points the system at a different part but the system does not understand the command. It can't.

Frustratingly, it seems even the people behind the Computerphile YT channel have fallen victim to these mistaken beliefs, with wildly outlandish fears about AI as they think it could become (while they continue to not address the very real harms our relationship to the tech and each other has created)

While I'm upset about the support of a system that encourages the waste of massive amounts of power, if even only during development, the more pressing concern I have is what the model was trained on, and how exactly we as users can verify that, if we even get an answer. You have very effectively alienated a lot of users and managed to burn a lot of goodwill and trust with this move. ..
