My first project will be the ActivityPub comments module for my (almost) done minimalist blog engine Yottablog. It will look something like this (of course: more polished, with buttons, etc).

Wanna fund the project? You can do it via my already established Ko-Fi in the meantime. I really need funds to make it happen.

(Also: I'm going to turn this project into a fully-compliant FOSS one; I just wanted to have it started before allowing PRs).

Edit: nope, I cannot open a GoFundMe profile because I live in a non-supported country, it seems.

Edit 2: My Ko-Fi blog post about the subject.

Is it sacrilegious for me to express some skepticism about that article titled “AI wrote a hit piece on me”?

What if the hit piece wasn't written by a LLM but rather a AGI (A Guy Instead ™)?

And yes. It was a dude. As I suspected all along. :msn_angry:

Bitcoin is pure, pure evil

Bitcoin’s energy use per dollar generated now exceeds that of mining copper or gold

Bitcoin mining significantly increases PM2.5 pollution, the tiny airborne particles linked to respiratory and heart disease.

Each bitcoin mining rig has a short shelf life of about 1.3 years. Once outdated, they’re dumped

Bitcoin mining needs massive water cooling systems

I worked with blockchain tech between 2014 and a 2023. I have such tales to tell you...

Isn't just bitcoin: every single “crypto” project out there is a vortex of selfishness, social darwinism and grift.

Just the tip of the iceberg: Zeke Echelon, and Forbes ME. Also: “whaleshark”. And a lot of other people I can't recall right now their handles, but where all “open and foss” on the surface while being corporate creeps underneath. Straight pedonazi shit (“Milady Makers”) and now I need a drink to forget. Excuse me...

"A significant share of the world’s “AI janitors” are low-wage workers tasked with labelling data, moderating disturbing content, and sanitizing AI outputs for global platforms often for less than $2 an hour and under gruelling conditions. The “magic” of AI, it turns out, is propped up by invisible labour in developing countries, whose health and well-being suffer as they review hateful, violent, or sensitive material to train or fix algorithms."

Well, it's down to what was the initial intent with the photo. I usually upload pics of my cats, and, unless they are used to train genAI, I'm OK if someone else used them for good causes. Most of the time I expect attribution in some form, but that's mostly for printed press, not for random people on the internet that might be just messing around with zero lucrative intent.

But there might be the case of a professional photographer that put a lot of effort to make a photo, and wouldn't be happy if their pic appears on someone else's work without any attribution.

So I guess it's down to discriminate between “pro-looking photos” and those that look just casual?
