We got a little bit of an issue.. Currently the main server for mstdn.social has just under 48GB disk space left and we cannot upgrade any further since we're at the highest tier
So the only solution would be a dedicated server with a lot more space to grow, within exactly 14 days bills will arrive for all our current servers but I also gotta rent and setup a new server in the meanwhile
Besides that me and my gf are alsomoving soon maybe so i cannot spend all our money on server bills 😩
@stux I know you’ve got enough on your plate, but if there was a way for you to show your costs and how much is already paid for, I think that would encourage people to chip in. I just sent 5€ but I don’t know if that even makes a dent or if you have already gotten plenty. Either way, happy to help and thanks for all you do!
When you post a link on Mastodon, a preview will automatically appear below the post. This can take a while though depending on how busy the server is, so don't worry if the preview isn't there straight away.
You don't have to do anything special to make previews appear, all you have to do is post a link. Here's a guide to link previews on Mastodon with questions answered:
@FediTips what about when posting Mastodon links on other services? Seems like sometimes it shows a preview on WhatsApp and other times it doesn’t! Is that a server specific setting?
