The first trilogy was: Jurassic Park

Then came 3 more: Jurassic World

Calling the next one ‘World’ broke the pattern. There was one more word—right there in the first film—they could’ve used.

The only right move.

Instead… they screwed the raptor.

Tall Order. As humans we have an innate sense of what is "real" to us. Beyond physical comparison, so many subtle cues make up our "likeness". A bit of gravel in our voice, a pregnant pause, a glance. I wonder if it's even possible for an AA to emulate the charisma, passion, and "inner child" in the eyes that actually come together to form the true "likeness" of the Walt Disney we connected with on TV? Sculptor Blaine Gibson who did the "Partner's" version, used to ever so slightly exaggerate features, as that's how we recall someone in our memory. They "read" as that person versus slaving to a life mask. Lincoln's lighting did that. (Audio seems heavily pitch controlled and texture scrubbed.) Have not seen it in person. Just an impression based on what they released. .

Still, I have to say—the placement of the Smoke Tree Ranch insignia, at least to me, speaks volumes about the level of “hard work” that went into the show.

P.S. Please know it feels so surreal to find myself pushing back (even politely) against someone I admire 😂

If we could bring Walt into the present—after giving him time to acclimate—there are a few films I’d be dying for him to see. Lilo & Stitch would be one of ‘em. Given all I’ve studied about him, hearing his thoughts on its themes and how they were handled… would be fascinating.
