A little, the stretching house plant demonstrates how plants can sense the direction light is coming from. They can also sense qualities of light. They can tell if light is filtered through other leaves, for instance. I would speculate that refected light also has a unique color (wavelength) distribution that a plant could sense and respond to

Fault divorce makes you prove that harm is being done thus a divorce is needed. This is removing no sex as a fault. I think there are usually financial ramifications from being the at fault spouse. Thus there would be financial repercussions for refusing to have sex with someone. Obviously a bad thing.

There is a thing called no-fault divorce that requires no proof of harm. I don't know if France has this, but it is how you get around needing any reason besides that one spouse wants to.

It isn't common, and explode is an exaggeration for what I have seen - just cracked bark (though the crack was probably abrupt and loud). Montana gets some every now and again, so I am guessing at least some parts of Alberta do too. Nobody has made a big deal about it in the past outside of folks interested in trees. This is some weird media hype.

Having worked growing native plants for restoration efforts, I can say that this is 100% true. Our focus was on getting plants that will survive without any extra help after being put in the ground, so no fertilizer and limited water. A scraggly leaved plant with good roots would make it where something with lots of soft new growth would get eaten.

As someone who has spent years cleaning both - men's restrooms are predictably gross the same way every day. Women's restrooms are typically cleaner until they aren't. Then they really aren't. You're getting down voted because your comment is confusing music with musical notation. You can't hear whether someone is playing a whole note or a quarter note. You can keep rhythm and say that note was 4 times longer than the last one. 1/4 notes will always be 1/4 the length of a whole note in the same song (assuming no time signature or tempo changes), but they don't define a certain length of note in real time.

When I am camping (and when I'm not) I try to think of my position in the world. Is the scorpion in my shoe invading my space or am I passing through theirs? Who should have the right to be there? Do they only get to exist if they play by my rules, or do I acknowledge the right of things that scare me to have a place in the world? Will I be someone who lashes out or someone who makes space?

You are totally in the majority with your actions, and I'm not trying to lay anything on you at all. I only wish we as a species could extend a little more kindness when it is the emotionally hard choice.

Even if that is true, do I adopt that morality for everything - ie what would they do if the sizes were reversed? Mosquitoes would leave me alone if they were human sized. Does that make it wrong to kill them?
