I think pixelfed would be the flagship dansup projects that should work. Too bad I only made an account then proceeded to do nothing with it.

With loops I just tried to help dansup, put pressure on him to see if he was gonna do anything with loops and he blocked me. That gave me the impression that loops wasn't going anywhere and I was half right the progress doesn't seem to be going in the fediverse direction but on other random features

I'm say loops is fedi-washed like a reactionary. There's no other instances, apparently it dies use the activityhub protocol.

I will comment that the major corporate sites like reddit and YouTube make hard for fediverse platforms to take off because they're hard to complete with. When they started out they didn't have competition people would get bored and come to them, then they would build niche communities on their own.

There hasn't been a blunder for most of 2025. Id count the tik Tok ban generally being the last one to capitalize on (but I believe that loops project just didn't bother to act).

Actually loops is 5 years old, but it seemed to have a big overhaul in the past few months as in it actually going through development and the source code is actually being published.

Apparently the activitypub protocol was announced to be implemented in October of 2025. Which is kinda funny.

Also I did hop to different instances looking for users on across instances and yeah I could only find 1 out of half dozen I tried. So I'm sceptical on activitypub protocol integration. It could be that they aren't federated

I'm actually impressed that there is 8 instances because I didn't except there to be more than one this year

I help dansup with loops back in February and January. I put some pressure on him for answers and well he folded and basically blocked me, so I got the impression that he didn't have the temperament to develop loops, but I'm half wrong because well he did eventually make it open source.

Also dansup is getting paid, he asked for grants and ran a fundraiser specifically for loops, so it's not exactly "in their free time"

If you're a backer (of any person or project) you should ask questions and expect answers. For me personally I'm forward with my project, that way someone can take it over or build on top of it

I think two reasons. Main one being them think drag shows are a sin/wicked/immoral or drag shows is showing genitals to kids. the other being that they thought tax payer money was going to the drag show itself and not just the venue.

Also one church just sang Carols and gave out flyers but idk if that was a protest or promotion

Yeah I was approached for interviews, supports and thank you, and one of preachers wanted to figure why I was counter protest

I don't think the drag shows did. They ironically sold out and I was counter protesting 2 hour opening so I doubt that they'll ever know

I have the mindset of taking any idea that works for yourself and use it for your purposes. Like we should be stealing ideas from big tech and foss-ing them. Id assume big tech is worse than this maintainer

But what would the fork look like? Finding the maintainer contribution and rewriting them?

I've been intercepting radio comms for retail chains and telling people to support any unionization effort and I even got onto meshtastic and reached out to anyone on there. also been looking into how to take junk we already have and convert it into other more useful (or even just giving the junk to people who need it).

I do wish my DSA chapter was more ambitious. there is our food share but we could do more canvassing to law the groundwork for politicians or even policies we advocate for.

I do think I'm figuring out politics is really a county wide game, as in county level is smallest level you can compete on. Big cities have there advantages like there's a lot of people and outreach is easy since everything is close together and city council positions have the smallest jurisdictions, but then what you can change is more limited. plus not everything is part of a city and unincorporated areas are subject to county so you can affect things like power and water for those areas if you go to the county level.

Toys generically is kinda big. It would be sad if all you could do was play with only one set for months. If you're constantly getting new-to-you toys then it's just something you enjoy and love.

I am a reseller so I do get new things to play with. Ironically I don't mess with toys that much. Old LCD screen toys are neat and leap frog stuff comes to mind.
