Its so interesting how different people perceive these things. Disco Elysium was so stress free for me, I didn't really think the day counter did anything. Same shit. Not saying that I like it, but this is not new at all. Take-Two is not a suddenly a spy company that installs spyware. Privacy policies have been like this for years but it seems some people currently woke up to reading or caring about privacy policies for the first time in their life.
The privacy policy changed not explicitly for the game. It is possible the data collection behaviour has always been like that and they only now have rewritten it to comply with current laws. The way its written is common to comply with EU law (what in detail may be collected and for what purpose).
Nothing changed for anyone that bought the game and only plays the game exclusively (eg. on Steam).
I just read the german version and compared them a little. (https://www.take2games.com/privacy/de/) Its about the same. But ist also reads fairly normal like any other privacy policy. I also think its in line with EU law. The collected data always relates to whatever TakeTwo service you use and whatever data you provide voluntarily or technically by using it. Thats fine by EU law.

I subscribed Apple Tv+ (free 7 day trial). I just needed to provide my personal data, email address and PayPal data. When I decided to cancel I could cancel the subscription on the Apple TV+ page, but when I wanted to delete the apple account in itself, I was forwarded to accounts.apple.com where I was asked to login first. When I tried this, I needed to enter my 2FA that I got by email and then I had to enter my mobile phone number for another 2FA. After that the screen that you can see in the reddit post comes up and I cannot proceed past it. I tried this process dozens of times with different browsers and configurations to no avail.
... I now sent in a GDPR account deletion request.
Correct, canceling the trial worked on the Apple TV page, but deleting the account does not work (see my other comment that describes the whole process).
