Can anyone tell me how many homes or small businesses one can power with 10GW (gigawatts)?

The reason I ask is that Nvidia is investing $100 billion in OpenAI to build a 10 GW data center with millions of GPUs. This is another way to fuck up our planet, and your electric bill will go up. But of course, they donโ€™t care about such things. There is absolutely no bubble ๐Ÿคฌ The last time dot com happened, it took more than 15 years to recover from that mess.

This machine has all the essential drives/storage and even comes with a turbo button for those older games or apps. The name "turbo" was misleading, as it didn't actually boost performance. Turbo "Off" means slowing down the CPU's clock speed, often down to the speeds of older processors.

@marcus IMO SoC in PCs is just an euphemism for "We give the customer a small speed boost but make it absolutely unserviceable and keep out competitors". I mean for the average Apple customer, will they ever perform a task on the computer where the time and bandwidth between CPU and RAM or GPU really matter? (Apart from virtualizing software that would have run without virtualization if it weren't that SoC ๐Ÿ˜‰)

@aram Gup.pe bots are unmoderated AFAIK. If you have a problem with one, you should contact the correct admin, @datatitian . @admin1 is only responsible for your instance, not bookstodon@a.gup.pe icon bookstodon group . You can and should also contact the admin of the user who posted to the bot the content that offended you.
Also, when I searched to report it, I didn't find the message with the exact text you refer to, only on commenting on a book about lobbying. Is it gone already? Did you by chance make a screenshot?

In the past few weeks, Apple canceled the following:

a) A multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI

b) Apple officially cancels autonomous driving permit (Apple already scrapped its self-driving electric car project after ten years of research)

c) Apple engineers confirmed that AIs don't understand reasoning and stuff like that.

While the whole tech industry is going AI-first, Apple is more cautious and isn't buying AI buzz. What do you think this indicates?

They wait for the innovative companies to go belly-up during the trough of disillusionement and then hire the laid-off scientists and engineers and buy the patents cheaply, succeeding on the slope of enlightenment.
