Anyone here have experience with solar generator kits? The ones that have a small panel array and a battery unit with charge controller, power ports, etc.

Thinking of getting a small one for power outages, occasional bush use, and the looming threat of civilizational collapse.

Mmm chili venado. 8 hour cook, best deer chili I've done yet. Toasting all of the spices and dried peppers right before adding them really makes a difference.

Some people will say you shouldn't add beans to chili, but I'm a believer in making small amounts of meat go far. When you're the one taking the life and putting in the work, the preciousness of meat is much more obvious. I'm not interested in lectures about authenticity from the styrofoam tray crowd.

Plus, beans are good.

As a society, we eat far too much meat and regard it far too flippantly. There's just shy of a pound of venison in this giant dutchie full of chili, which will be about 8-ish meals for my girlfriend and I.

Also, cubed offcuts (stew meat) are way better for chili than ground. Yous are fuckin up by using ground.

AI has really fucking ruined the internet. I was just checking on safe meat hanging temperatures, and one AI generated site told me to make sure to keep it above 32F because otherwise the deer won't be able to keep its core temperatures up and might not survive.

My guy. I appreciate your concern, but I think we might be past that.

Anyways, I'm glad I have paper books from the before time. Gonna start hitting thrift stores for old textbooks and how-to manuals.

Yeah I agree and I also try not to get toooo tied up in the definitions. I think the thrust of his argument is clear.

And in this case, the assertion is posed against the liberal rights definition so it probably makes some sense to use their terminology anyways.

Yeah it's not my preferred rhetoric. I prefer something along the lines of (give or take):

Rights are simply someone writing down what freedoms you've won. Our goal is to extend those freedoms so far that it won't matter what anyone writes down.

Basically piggybacking on what's good about them and moving them into a better framing. Stays clear of the risk of parroting reactionary rhetoric. Works for democracy, social programs, etc. too, imo.

Again, I think the potential for misunderstanding is way too high and just invites endless word games trying to define democracy.

I go more along the lines of liberal democracy was an insufficient reform of feudalism because it simply replaced hereditary lords with elected ones. We instead need to go beyond democratic states and root power in communities of free people.

Makes it more clear where we stand, instead of sharing rhetorical space with yarvin.

I let my tomatillo plants get too bushy, which made me dread pruning and harvesting them. I'm finally hacking them back today so I can retrieve my soaker hose, and of course there's a fuckin billion tomatillos in here lmao. Not only on the plants, but also dropped all over the bed. Some rotting, some nibbled on, some beautiful.

Anyways, here's what I harvested off of just one plant. A lot of salsa verde in my future.

I think everyone needs a reminder that fascists don't need "an excuse" to do fascist violence. Fascists do fascist violence when given opportunity, not when given pretext.

This is not some "start" to political violence. The fascists are already doing fascist violence, and have been for quite some time.

They will likely claim it as their reason for new violence, yes, but you shouldn't take fascists at their word. That would be a gravely dangerous misunderstanding of fascist behaviour.

Keeping in mind that I'm still allowed to hope someone dies from natural causes last time I checked, I strongly suspect that JD Vance is a Ron DeSantis kinda nazi. And back when everyone was predicting Ronny was gonna usurp Trump I told all my homies on social media no way in hell and the Volk can smell a fake tough guy fraud. Ronny doesn't have "the juice" and I don't think Vance does. The juice is not unique to Trump but you gotta be a genuine delusional narcissist for it to work.

My basic thing is that I don't think you should be getting your news and political theory from YouTubers and Streamers. I think ultimately the economics of the business and the social dynamics in the community make it about something, primarily, that is fundamentally different than reading books and listening to lectures about political ideas and liberation methodologies.

That video is an example of what people who have to put a lot of effort into not marching correctly look like when they try to mimic someone on their first day. It's taking all of their concentration to do ght their muscle memory and not do it properly.

I was really skeptical of people saying the military wouldn't fall in line, but I used to live in a (canadian) army town and I've seen a fucking lot of marching. There's no way.
