Lol. Nvidia isn't part of the bubble. The bubble is all the small, unknown SW companies that are getting crazy bug valuations without making any money. Nvidia sell physical chips to the largest companies in the planet. That's not just going to stop...it could taper...but it's not just going to stop overnight.
The article mentions nothing about nvidia giving up on WoA and I highly doubt they have. This seems like a great choice to give people what they want in the short term while they work on bringing WoA to reality in the long term.
x86 dominates consumer desktop/gaming space now...but i believe long term x86 is dead. The future is arm.
I don't think legacy software will keep x86 around and winning forever. Things change and its not always easy to see it before it happens. I believe all the reasons you listed will keep x86 around for quite a while.
When I say arm will win in the long run, I don't mean that WoA will have anything to do with it. WoA as it exists today will likely be abandoned.
I do think in the next decade Microsoft will focus on creating a full abstraction layer so it's software can run on any HW. This would be a longterm play. At launch, Would it be feature parity with what exists today...no. but over time it will build up the codebade, drivers, etc. To over take the current windows ecosystem.
Has there been any disruption of profits and influence of western corps due to RISC-V? To my knowledge, not yet and its not a sure thing.
Im not entirely sure your point of view is a win for OS. When other nation states view it as a threat instead of an option it leaves the door open for all the sabotage, etc. that nation states to to each other.

Quite literally the opposite. The first minute does not answer my question about why he has been appearing all over lemmy. Neither do the comments here.
Sure he's trying to degoogle. Hence this post, but that is not what I asked.
Unclear if you're a troll or just choosing to be dense...
Curious what your issues with glusencamp-perez are? I don't live in her district, but seems like she represents her constituents fairly well for how politically split the district is...but again I'm not necessarily in the know.
Well...it can be an long conversation but the TL;DR is there were several space communities and it will help lemmy grow to consolidate. Mander was chosen because they are science focused and LW holds ~40% of all lemmy users. To avoid one community from dominating lemmy we need to spread the usage to multiple instances.

Seems like you're on the west coast (USA). Me too.
I'm hoping I get to duck out for a bit and take it all in after bedtime and chores. I won't be able to pull out a telescope tonight, but sometimes binoculars surprise me.
Where are you located? How harsh of winters do you get? How wet is your spring?
I've always been interested in doing this. Winters are fairly mild here in my part of the PNW, but have doubts that I wouldn't just have a mud pit in the fall/spring.
One thing to think about is that recently we had a few requests to create a rule about quality sources. I was always torn about it. The post with links to bad sources/bad science brought out some of the highest engagement from the whole community and spurred some great educational dialogs.
I don't like the idea of keeping a disallowed list of sources. Nor do I like the idea of debating source quality.
So you're saying they are similar in some ways. Good. I totally agree. Yes, they are different in many ways, but I'm glad you abandoned the claim that they aren't similar.
I find it funny how many startups out their claim that they beat nvidias performance..but then never can produce any of their revolutionary products...
I actually just repleace mine. I found that it was actually getting pretty slow at browsing the web. Websites have so much garbage code running on them these days. Funny that the new Samsung phones have the same amount of RAM and storage.
Also, the security updates thing was getting to me. I have way to much banking info exposed on my phone to keep using it out of security update window.
I currently don't have much time to put into hobbies, but I did some gardening/landscaping during a break in the rain last weekend. Felt great to get out and move around. Garden finally is put to bed for the winter (or what's left of it).
I am starting off the new year by using my discount second hand tools to try and cobble together a nice birthday present for my wife. Materials include water damaged maple, warped walnut, and spider-infested purple heart. Wish me luck.
