A scenic landscape of a narrow waterway bordered by tall pine trees, the water reflecting a blue sky with fluffy clouds. Lily pads dot the water's surface, and the reflections of the trees create a mirrored effect.
Abandoned cars shot on 35mm and medium-format film - Part 2
I wonder who the owners were; what precious memories led them to keep the car, and what happened to them to leave their beloved vehicle forgotten and decaying.
Do you have an old car you are keeping hold of? I would love to hear your stories and thoughts 🩵
The Clarke & lake blue line subway train slowly approaches the platform. Photographed directly facing the tracks. The train’s front lights glow in amber, with the contrast turned up so they are sharper against the blue platform lines, drawing focus to the beams lighting up the station.
Red Ballroom, Hungary. This grand space was added in the 1930s, a new addition to an existing hotel. It was used as a ballroom, as well as a theatre and cinema. It fell out of use in the 1980s or 1990s and has stood abandoned and decaying ever since.
A once-grand Portuguese mansion, at the heart of a large wine-making estate. Now it stands in ruins, as it is being reclaimed by nature year-after-year.
An abandoned, stone mansion features a winding staircase heavily overgrown with lush greenery. Broken windows and a rusted grate detail the crumbling facade.
The "Red Star" train, left rusting in an old train repair depot in Hungary. It was removed a few years ago; who took it and where it is now remains a mystery!
It is a MAV-424 Series steam locomotive, a well-known and nostalgic Hungarian machine. These double-chimneyed beasts were often nicknamed “The Buffalo”.
This specific engine was built in the 1940s. Some sources suggest it was in service until 1991.
✈️ 🚂 🚗 Planes, Trains and Automobiles (and a cable car!) 🚡
Old cars taken for one last drive and dumped in forests. Cable cars left in silent stations. Soviet-era planes, once gate guardians to old air bases, now just an out-of-place curiosity. Huge rusting steam trains languishing in old collapsing depots.
A heavily rusted steam engine sits abandoned in a derelict train graveyard, with debris and green growth on the ground. Light filters through the shed's dusty roof windows.
🩵☠️ La Morgue Prélude, or, The Blue Morgue. Somewhere in France.
This French hospital complex dating back to the 1860s, this mortuary sits on a partially active site. The facility remains in clean condition and is reportedly occasionally used for filming. Across the corridor, cadaver fridges with original gurneys and numbered plates remain.

🚸 Schools out, forever! A collection of abandoned classrooms from around the world - Part 1
When schools close down, these spaces are often left seemingly frozen in time. When the last person leaves, they lock the door and these places fall silent, waiting in limbo for years or decades in some cases.
These images represent various classrooms found during my travels; Japan, USA, Poland & Belgium.
An old control room at a wind tunnel research facility, England. Sadly, this building was demolished last year. Photo captured on my 1970s 35mm camera on Kodak Gold film.
