Some weeks make it clearer than others that Trump can be beaten back. This week a grand jury rejected charges tied to Democratic lawmakers speaking out, immigration operations in Minnesota were scaled back, and the Pride flag went back up at Stonewall. Add Trump’s slipping approval numbers to the mix, and you’ve got more than one reason to feel a flicker of optimism. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/week-progressive-wins-february-15

As you are still on Substack, please seriously consider leaving the platform. It’s a Nazi bar. You don’t want to give them your money or your attention. I hear ghost dot org is a great, Nazi-free alternative.

So, Substack hosts and promotes Nazis on its platform. Do other newsletter providers like Ghost and Beehiiv and Wordpress actively PROHIBIT Nazis and other hategroups?

It honestly is infinitely all kinds of sad that I syndicate my blog posts to Facebook, no external link, and everyone eats it up, but if I send someone a link to my website via SMS or something, I get, "Do you publish these on Facebook? Can I just read you on Facebook or Substack? I don't get why you made your own website. Strange."

I get it that my layout isn't for everybody but that's why I don't block reader mode. That's why I have full text RSS. I give you the choice but this only seems to alien people more not less.

Substack hosts swastika-laden Nazi accounts promoting white supremacism (https://www.theguardian.com/media/2026/feb/07/revealed-how-substack-makes-money-from-hosting-nazi-newsletters). If you're currently using Substack, you might want to switch to a more ethical alternative like Ghost.

Ghost is a Fediverse-compatible blog and newsletter platform, it runs on free open software and you can host it yourself or use a paid hosting service. More info:

The journalist @molly0xfff wrote on moving from Substack to Ghost:

I just can't Substack. Sorry not sorry.

Substack is generating revenue from newsletters that promote virulent Nazi ideology, white supremacy and antisemitism, a Guardian investigation has found.

Has about 50 million users worldwide.

Substack takes about 10% of the revenue the newsletters make. About 5 million people pay for access to newsletters on its platform.

Organizes posts to aid in author discovery. I think you can set up monetization options on your associated substack.

Something happened to me recently, and I don't mean to be dramatic, but it's truly a shameful thing.
Two days ago, I joined the writing platform & even though @aral & @fabio told me it wasn't a good platform for me, being Palestinian, I decided to interact on it and post my poems there.
I was subjected to awful abuse in all verbal forms by Zionists there.
But I preferred to remain silent instead of arguing with any fools.
Today, the platform’s banned me!
