I have smth nice to say about . The booking page allows to reserve a ticket. I.e. I can reserve the ticket for the outbound trip, the return trip. Then worry about booking activities and accommodation at the destination. And if all those work out, I actually buy the train ticket, otherwise I release the reservation.

With , I could only pay a higher ticketing category and still only get 70% of the purchase price back.

(I'm👀 a trip where travel and participation tickets are limited)

Not very widely known funfact: twice during the 90s TGV trains arrived in Poland.

The first time it happened in 1991 when the record-braking TGV Atlantique unit 325 (the one that ran 515 km/h) was brought to Warsaw for a HSR conference. It couldn't run on its own because of incompatible power mode.

Then in 1995, for the 150th anniversary of railways in Poland, courtesy of SNCF and Alstom PKP borrowed TGV Réseau 4522 (which was not in service yet).
Because it was multi-mode and supported 3kV DC, it ran a bunch of special rides between 12 and 19 June 1995, stopping in multiple cities and attracting a lot of interest.

The train was operated by the SNCF staff, with Polish crew present in the driver's cabin.

It seems to be impossible to connect to @mullvadnet via the train , despite the SNCF website explicitly saying is allowed.

Does anyone have similar experiences or solutions? I tried various country servers, and , IPv4 and IPv6.

The posts from @jon on international rail travel - always interesting - make me wonder. I have three long work-related train trips planned for this year, all originating from SE France: Madrid (next week), Stockholm (June), Lisbon (December). And several trips to Berlin and other places in Germany.

Are there any people here who want to follow and get my experiences (good and bad) quasi-live on mastodon?

is never short of innovative ideas to demonstrate its no-cooperation with Spanish rail services.

(but I think I will file a complaint on another point: they said that their wifi does not work in Spain, while in fact it does!)
