So… the Chernobyl story is still echoing in places you can’t see. Researchers sequenced 130 people with fathers who were cleanup workers and found more clustered de novo mutation “clusters” in their kids—higher estimated dose, more clusters—yet no higher disease risk was found. Science with a side of unease, huh?

A type of fungus in Chernobyl exclusive zone that is highly radioactive have evolved into turning radioactive radiation into energy, just like plants use sun for photosynthesis.

We are witnessing evolution in real time!

"A massive equatorial Coronal Hole is now turning directly toward Earth — and it’s arriving at the same time as those giant, hyperactive sunspots and the unusual dual-spacecraft detection we saw earlier today.
That combination doesn’t happen often.
The Sun is gearing up for a very active period.
Coronal Hole + hyperactive sunspots + fast-moving material in the solar wind
= the kind of setup that usually leads to “interesting” days for Earth."

Also for aircrafts? had problems with it's . Some weeks ago one of the nearly 6000 planes lost control - because of , they told us now. Most machines got an software update in the last days, so we shall be safe, they tell us.
Really, software against ?
Houston, we have a problem.
Are there any physicists here?

Let me tell you about an monstrosity

It wasn't a , it was a nuclear powered missile. So it could fly almost forever

Do you see the teensy tiny problem?

The fucking thing constantly spewed nuclear

🤦

Luckily canceled

Constantly irradiating the atmosphere might be slightly bad huh?

Glad to put that in the dustbin of history

Right?

people just crowdfunded a missile worth 515000 € in two days!

weaponstoukraine.com/kampane/d…

You might wonder why is the missile called Dana. Let's explain and share the .

There once was a woman leading nuclear safety administration. As soon as invaded and attacked power plants, people were worried about radioactive dangers from this .

This woman started doing simple, yet clear reports everyday stating "Situation with in Ukraine is normal" with few more words about what's going on there at this moment. With her really specific humor she always knew who is the bad guy and never was afraid of saying so. She also co-founded the / initiative.

This woman - called Dana - passed away 6th October this year and will be missed badly. Yet - thanks to her name and kindness of people from we managed to raise such a ridiculous amount of money again to fight against oppression from Russian criminals.

She would be proud and so are we.

.. rest in peace

electricity isn’t bad just because the electric chair is “bad”. but that’s exactly how we treat radiation.

fear of the unknown has always slowed progress. throughout history, we’ve always feared things we didn’t understand: planes, electricity, vaccines, microwaves, cellphones, AI, and of course…radiation. that fear has delayed nuclear plant deployment, stalled climate solutions, and kept us hooked on fossil fuels far longer than necessary.

but radiation isn’t the villain; our misunderstanding of it is. and until we face that fear with facts, we’ll keep holding ourselves back from the rad future we deserve.

Radiation Status in the Marine World by Manoj Kumar Jindal et al, 2025

Natural radiation is omnipresent everywhere on the earth, and humans cannot avoid it. Natural radiation is a critical aspect in understanding the health issue and predicting the existence of radionuclides.

This book has information about radiation status near the ocean in all areas on Earth.
