The old Debenhams department store in Bristol has been turned into an indoor skate park called "Shredenhams". Lots of little kids crashing about in the morning, and teens/adults in the evening. Great use of vacant urban spaces. #bristol#regeneration#skating

Just had a call with a person from #bristol who is engaged in civic and environmental things. They are convinced of the badness of Monopoly Social Media and serious about trying to move off.
They are looking for something local-first, to foster in-group connection and coworking. To network outwards as well.
During the last lot of Dr's strikes the local tv news reporter camped outside the Bristol Royal Infirmary to grab interviews with disgruntled patients. Asking one eldery lady if she was angry that her operation had been cancelled she replied
'yes, but I'd rather die than cross a picket line'
meanwhile in the #UK, one of the richest countries in the world, a huge rise in #homelessness is creating apocalyptic scenes in every city, with #bristol in 2nd place..
