Anyone who thinks COVID is over or has nothing to do with sports:
Miami Hurricanes went from physically dominating Texas A&M & Ohio State to barely surviving Ole Miss (76th best defense, 78th best Oline) and then losing to a QB Draw by a slow 6'5 transfer and about 37 James Madison 25 year old transfers in the national championship game.
Players were sick as hell with flu and COVID between the OSU & Ole Miss Games.
Theres a reason Olympians are the best masking athletes in 2026. They know the amount of preparation it takes to get to where they're at, and they'll risk 35 different kinds of gonorrhea & chlamydia in Olympic Village before they risk a chance at a Gold Medal.
Also, it isn't a Meltdown. They Wised Up. Stupid ass DailyMail headline.
The Cosmic Owl is two galaxies that crashed into each other, creating overlapping ring-shaped splashes of stars. It measures 150,000 light years from side to side, or about 10^20 times the size of a Great Grey Owl on Earth.

Lewis announced his departure in a 2-paragraph email to the newspaper’s staff, saying that after 2 years of transformation, “now is the right time for me to step aside.” The Post’s CFO, Jeff D’Onofrio, was appointed temporary publisher.
Neither Lewis nor the newspaper’s #billionaire owner #JeffBezos participated in the meeting with staff members announcing the layoffs Wednesday. While anticipated, the cutbacks were deeper than expected, resulting in the shutdown of the Post’s renowned #sports section, the elimination of its #photography staff & sharp reductions in personnel responsible for coverage of metropolitan Washington & overseas.
I want to thank Roger Federer for retiring. As much as I like this generation of players, I still wasn’t compelled to watch the Australian open championship starting at what would have been 3 AM my time.

NEW: How Tennessee’s Speaker of the House Helped Keep a Payday Lender’s Struggling Sports Gambling Company Alive
Cameron Sexton took steps that allowed the owners of a payday lending company, Advance Financial, to keep using their stores to boost a now-defunct online sports betting enterprise.
"That contrast is where the power comes from. You get unpredictability without existential risk. You get chaos that’s bounded. The play might fail or succeed, but the system itself is stable. There’s a beginning and an end. The whistle will blow. The next play will come.
I think that mirrors how a lot of people want to experience the world more generally."

FIFA and the International Olympic Committee have rejected calls to ban the United States from the competitions. A group of U.K. Members of Parliament tabled a motion calling the IOC, FIFA and other governing bodies to exclude the U.S. from major competitions until it demonstrates compliance with international law and respect for sovereignty. In a statement, the IOC said: "The ability to bring athletes together, no matter where they come from, is fundamental to the future of values-based, truly global sport, which can give hope to the world. For this reason, the IOC cannot involve itself directly in political matters or conflicts between countries, as these fall outside our remit. This is the realm of politics." FIFA, which awarded Donald Trump its inaugural peace prize last month, declined to comment. Here's more from @.
The U.S. Supreme Court appears poised to uphold laws in West Virginia and Idaho that ban transgender athletes from taking part in girls’ and women’s school and college sports. Most judges seem reluctant to find that the laws violate either the 14th Amendment to the Constitution or Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. @ has more. https://flip.it/2RtXd- #SCOTUS#TransRights#Transgender#Sports#Women#Constitution

One of the ridges of Mont Blanc with low sun shining on one side and leaving the other in the shadows.
Tiny people are walking down the ridge to the ski spot.
Today I found out that, because of gay fiction books about ice hockey, women are attending ice hockey matches.
They're calling it "boy aquarium" and when the hockey players slam up against each other and get all aggressive, they're chanting "KISS, KISS, KISS, KISS!"
Men are complaining that it's ruining it, and that they shouldn't be allowed to sexualise men playing sports.
Kiteboarders gliding across on choppy waters of Puget Sound as seen from the Marina Beach Park in Edmonds, WA .
The snow-capped Olympic Mountains and ferries running between Edmonds and Kingston provide one of the iconic sceneries of the Pacific Northwest.

Some of my shots of Kiteboarders taking advantage of a recent windy day. It was so much fun to watch these daredevils. I just call them adrenaline junkies :))
