There is a large community of people from #India in my area. It is not helpful for people to call Native/Indigenous people Indians.
Stick to Native or Indigenous is my advice. Or even better if you know the Native Nation, use that. In real life, if someone has culture fluency I will usually introduce myself as #Mvskoke#Muscogee, then #Native or #Indigenous, or if I consider them culture neutral or less #NativeAmerican
A bead board with a pair of beaded fringe earrings on it surrounded by beadwork supplies and tools. The earrings ombre from black on the top and bottom, to grey, silver, and white in the middle of the fringe. The tops feature white crescent moon shapes.
It's my birthday!! If you wanna support me today and help me have an awesome birthday the best thing you can do is make an order for some beadwork. Financial security during this move is the best gift I can ask for right now. Mvto!!!
Selfie of me in a black t-shirt with white text that reads "Merciless Indian Savages -Declaration of Independence". I have my hair down and I'm making a duck face.
This should be a very good book. Edited by [Dr.] Lara A. Jacobs (Mvskoke/Choctaw). You might remember she authored our Settler Colonialism Introduction page on the Turtle Island blog.
