So, I picked up this audiobook; Blank: The First Number

At 37 minutes, I thought it would be a quick read for the night before starting a larger book for the commute tomorrow

Unfortunately, couldn't get past the first chapter

The Introduction alone was a quasireligious celebration of an unknown quantity, complete with the full gamut of deitic descriptions ranging from nothing to infinity, alfpha and omega, et nauseum

I feel myself wishing for the last six minutes of my life back

Thankfully, I did not actually pay money for this...

Hasan Piker's Excuses for DSA's Opportunism + Is Zohran Mamdani Good for the US Socialist Movement? ( socialismforall.substack.com )

Marxist-Leninist commentary for the US left against pro-Democratic Party opportunism masquerading as socialism. 1h20m of criticizing Hasan from a communist perspective. I definitely lost some brain cells listening to this one. #socdemgang ...

Hello!

I am Xenophon Vos, a horror author and avid reader looking to bring a lot of to your feeds. :)

I've recently moved from podvibes.co to be on a more general-use server where I feel more comfortable talking about stuff that isn't just podcasts, although I am very deep into the community still.

I also read often, mostly physically, but I have recently tried to push myself into reading and want to try soon. Some of my favourite genres are -fi and and I specifically love time travel as a narrative tool.

Folks still using Audible, here’s my semi-regular plug that Libro.fm continues to be awesome for me after many years! I had a question late last night and this morning they answered and solved it with their fast and friendly customer support.

Also - they let you download your audio files! You can take them and put them in any other audio device or app you might want to use.

I have a thought that's a sort of question and I hope I can express it well. Specifically for my friends, since we have greater access to books in other formats such as ePUB, Daisy and means through which to read in and the like, are as important or necessary as they once were? Do people find themselves as a result less willing to embrace any narration human or otherwise merely to have the book in an auditory format as they might have in earlier times when that was more likely to have been our only means of access? I hope my question makes sense. It's just something I'm thinking about as I listen to samples of Audible books and think do I really want to listen to that narration; and would I have been as prone to such a thought in earlier times when it might have been that narration or no access at all.

Firefighter Love: Curvy Girl Alpha Male Romance (Curvy Temptations) is a younger man / older woman age gap romance I narrated as Eden Cavell for Kelsie Calloway.

When a hot young firefighter moves back to the small town where he grew up, he finally gets a chance to ask out his childhood crush: his best friend's big sister!

The male lead is super sweet and it's a big-hearted, wholesome story (with a red hot finale).

"Firefighter Love: Curvy Girl Alpha Male Romance (Curvy Temptations)" is available as an audiobook on Audible, Amazon & Apple Books. It's also available in ebook and paperback formats on Amazon.

(If you've ever wondered what I sound like as the voice of a hunky young firefighter, here's where you find out!)
