  • With the amount of people saying Trump’s doctored the files, just position yourself as much an enemy of Trump as you can. Then you can declare yourself framed if anything incriminating appears, using your brazen demands to release the files as evidence.

Essentially turning the matter of your innocence into a partisan issue means you guarantee the support of a good portion of libs, and gives your friends in high places a good excuse to let you off.

  • Even if you were extremely generous and conceded that all these baseless, vague accusations were true, they’d be significant improvements over the current government.

Like oh no a political party that supports state violence, supports authoritarian regimes, has cult-like behaviours, platforms fascists, has opaque funding and suppresses protests, unlike the current parties which uh… well, uh… all that, but way worse, and way more intensely, and more, extremely evil things, such as constantly doing fucking genocide.

  • I’ve gone the complete opposite way. I used disposable jobbies for ~10 years, but switched to a safety razor 2-3 years ago and it’s been way better and faster for me. Not to mention like… 20-100x cheaper and the environmental bonus.

As others have said, both disposables and safety razors vary significantly in quality, I’d recommend doing more experimenting yet. Disposable razors have a lubrication strip on them which makes a big difference, so there may also be a shaving soap factor.

  • Horrifically rage-against-the-next-generation bait that’s just a nothingburger, yes, four year olds will slide their hand on pages, that’s normal.

Not sure why but the UK has been big on this thing lately, but it’s always without any significant evidence of ‘worsening’ beyond vibes.

If you actually look at the numbers, the 2020 annual report suggest 46% of kids weren’t school ready, while this year’s suggests that’s 37%, a huge decline. 87% of staff in 2020 said they had at least one non-toiled trained student, so it’s not some magical new issue. Any ‘increases’ I can see over the past 5 years are completely within range of error and not statistically significant.

And this is primary school, so we’re looking at students from age four.

Is there improvement to be made? Sure. But let’s not pretend there wasn’t always improvement to be made, or that today’s parents are somehow magically more awful than before.

  • Then I have no idea what you’re referring to by ‘what google is doing to android and tried to do to web’ because as far as I know, that isn’t relevant.

What I’m describing is definitively not antivirus. Antiviruses use heuristics (and known checksums of bad things) to scan processes/files/network traffic/system calls for dangerous patterns. They’re not doing real-time checksuming to detect system corruption or malfunction, they’re not comparing known system files because that’s complex and hard to do, and seems to be what the company is claiming here.

I have no idea what Google checksuming you’re referring to but as far as I’m aware that’s a not thing they’re doing to android and trying to do web. Everything Linux (including Android) does some amount of checksums at certain points because they’re useful, but not real-time process checksums. I assumed you were surely referring to them requiring that apps get signed by their certificates, making everything subject to their approval. Which is different from realtime checksumming for integrity.
