The only redeeming aspect of Private Health insurance is that it is a big employer.
Australia does not have any more primary or secondary industry any more. Closing down the Private Health Insurance Companies will make a helluva lot of people unemployed.
That said; these roles are just a leech on the community, without actually generating anything that benefits our society.
The contempt that Australians have for Seppo trucks such as Silverados, RAMs and F-trucks is real. Basically, the consensus is that all people who drive these trucks have “body issues” below the waist.
Except for the Technophiles, and Enviro-nerds the consensus is that Tesla Drivers also have Self-confidence issues with their communication skills.
There is no overlap between these two demographics so there is no market in Australia for the Cybertruck.
Two tiny circles.
The retarding basin near work is getting a bit manky; same as the wetlands near our housing estate.
They could do with a flush.
The low-socio-economic housing estates down the hill from us in the reclaimed swampland are getting a bit manky too.
Since most early product marketed as AI was really just “Another Indian”, they were probably people who didn’t know where the employee entrance was.
Star references are always gross oversimplifications of a review.
Is that car really unsafe to drive or use too much fuel?
Does that washing machine really use too much energy or water?
Did that retail store really provide Karen with the “Worse Experience Ever!”
Is that food really bad for you personally?
Some manufacturers are part of the industry compliance bodies and will game the system so that that their product gets 5 stars even if it is objectively terrible. Look at Diesel-gate. Look at the amount of Permeate in “milk”. Look at the amount of sugar in “fat-free” products. Look at the mind-altering chemicals in artificial sweeteners.
Different people and different applications have different needs, expectations and dietary requirements. When making a decision about a purchase, consumers need to make their own informed choices.
This is how the scam works; A “tyre recycling” company rents a warehouse in an industrial area. They then go around to Tyrefitters and car dealerships and ask to remove their old tyres; for a fee. They then fill the warehouse with tyres, fail to pay the rent and close their company. The landlord gets left with a warehouse full of waste that they the need to get rid of and the scammers start a new company.
This Tyre Stewardship mob need to proactively have a way for Landlords to contact them so that they can dispose of the tyres for them in exchange for information about the individual’s involved in these companies. They need the legal backing to prosecute the individuals, even though the companies have been dissolved.
Finally, the environmental restrictions need to be set so that legal recycling can be performed locally. Biochar is one option, but preprocessing to remove the metal and post processing to remove the sulphur reduces profitability.
My job description is “Parts Interpreter”.
I have to translate descriptions like “Thingy”, “Whatchamacallit” and “Doo-dad” into useful descriptions through dialogue with the customer.
It is amazing how often the customer doesn’t want to work with you in a dialogue and doesn’t answer any questions or respond to clarifications.
Existing institutions are still controlling the narrative, just that people aren’t believing it.
One good think about the GenBS bubble is that those people that aren’t complete drones improve their BS detectors.
The problem are that there are still plenty of complete drones who still believe everything that is fed to them.
It was never about protecting children. It was always about spying on citizens.
And now the Albo is giving all our personal data to the Seppos, we are pretty much screwed.
iOS26 is just a shitshow in a dumpster fire.
Apple needs to rollback all devices running iOS26 to iOS18 and admit that they screwed up.
It (and MacOS Tahoe) are almost as bad as Windows 11, and that is a big statement.
How could anyone be lonely with such a magnificent moustache?
20 business day month. (For the sake of the Accountants)
If we had 25th of 28th off, in addition to Good Friday and Easter Monday, April would only have 19 workdays which would confuse the Bean Counters.
Meanwhile, March is going to have 21 workdays. (Same with May and June)
Besides Liquid Glass (which is not only non-compliant with basic Accessibility requirements, but is also hideous), a lot of apps (like Photos) have had perfectly functional features hidden or completely removed in lieu of dysfunctional (and in most cases non-functional) Apple “Intelligence”.
I may be wrong; if I am, please tell me how to access Geotagged photos using a Map.
It may have been something critical of the Zionist State committing Ethnic Cleansing, but considering “Mr Koschel was a member of the recently disbanded neo-Nazi group the National Socialist Network (NSN).” It was more likely that it was some racist crap.
Yummo! Thankyou Chef.
Just replace every reference to “AI” with “BS”.
Meanwhile, they love to use flawed LLM models to calculate premiums and assess claims, as long as they are more expensive or cheaper than the human experts come up with.
I’m fasting for a medical test this morning.
After my test, I would like a big continental breakfast; before it gets too hot.
I am also getting the car serviced today. Usually I cut a few laps of the local Botanic Gardens while I wait, but since it is so hot, I think I will be lounging in a quite café with AC until the kick me out…
Hopefully it is delayed because they are extracting every terrible UI change they introduced in iOS 26.0
