Companies can and do move their IP.
It doesn’t impact their existing cash resources but they can ensure future cash flows are taxed less. There was a reason the Ireland Dutch sandwich became really popular and how Apple has lots of cash it can’t really use without paying tax on it.
Linux- Having a separate partition for /home might be sufficient since dropbox keeps the login details in ~/.config
- Use a tool like rclone and run sync manually. Can backup the API key post the in-browser login. If you spend extra effort, you can create a systemd file to automate this as well
