jfc, I just accessed a Wiley article. In the online viewer, they slipped an ad before the first page of the article. It is for an academic service, but it is still an ad. The added value here is one-sided. It does not appear in the downloaded PDF (yet). @academicchatter

@ingorohlfing @academicchatter IOP publications (Environmental Research Letters) often have an advertisement on the first page of the downloaded PDF. Very annoying.
