"AI Summaries" have infested #ScienceDirect now with their inaccurate but confidently-formulated statements... Fortunately some people are fighting back, like @Iris who emailed them about it:
AI slop and the destruction of knowledge
We should all do the same until they remove these "summaries"!

Fixed!

Job well done!
Now all you have to do is fix the rest of the internet that's wrong!

@elduvelle @Iris @academicchatter The AI crowd is not educated enough to understand what it is destructing. Ignorance, destruction and denial are a sign of the times. It is sad.

In case of interest I first complained about ScienceDirect 'Topic Pages' and the non-consensual hyper-linking to Topic Pages within Elsevier published articles back in 2021... and the Scholarly Kitchen community deflected the critique **sigh**
This issue has been brewing for a long time. I'm really glad you're calling this out, thank you.
I do wish research libraries would stop hosing money at Elsevier.
