LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•"They dont have congress" get fucked. Do they not know how to speak, either?
21·1 day agoNot at all I’m asking a straight forward question. Which Congress members did you vote for? Or do you cower behind anonymity? The Democrats are shit, but they still apparently have the feck to show themselves instead of hiding and denouncing all without ever saying anything meaningful. The majority of the U.S supports right wing beliefs. You condiscend them as many of us do, but you cower and hide and ask someone to “re-think” their question when asked a direct question.
Who did you elect, and why.
How do you want others to help, if you show no brass yourself

10·3 days agoWell that’s the thing, he hasn’t done anything illegal in saying they will pay $10b, legally I think he is fine to completely lie and destroy the credibility of the U.S. presidency/country. Not until he procures the money without it being passed in a budget bill or such by congress would it be illegal. That said, he may be able to get private companies to pay the $10b by promising them contracts with those countries buying in. The sketchy business deals would just creep in quick. At some point you’d think companies would say they can’t get it passed their boards though, because if he somehow loses power whether it be a cheeseburger or what, the companies have 0% guarantee the U.S. will ensure those contracts

Dull Men's Club@lemmy.world•I taught the Monty Hall problem today as a middle school math lesson
12·3 days agoIt was hard to picture looking at it in one direction for me as a kid, but after thinking about it for about 15 minutes I looked at it from the “opposite view” and for some reason it clicked. (Not from the players view, but rather the hosts view)
They give you the chance to open a door 1/3. Then ask if you would like to change after opening another door to show a goat. Your first thought is that, well it’s a 50-50 chance the last door is the prize because there are only 2 left. so what would it matter, but really it is 2/3. As your chances of being right were 1/3 originally, and he knows where the car is, and has to eliminate one of the doors you don’t have. Making it so now 2/3 of the options are out if you choose a new door, or it stays at 1/3 if you stay the same. So you say “thank you for the extra 33% chance at winning” and always change to the second door

News@lemmy.world•DOJ Scrubs Record of Interviews With Trump Accuser From Epstein Files
31·4 days agoSo the FBI had an interview about the then president sexually assaulting/raping a child and them punching her in the face when it didn’t go his way. The interview evidence gets mishandled and instead of taking 5 business days required to file it took 12 business days. The next day the person who connected the President to these charges is found dead. With his brother requesting a secondary otopsy because he believed his brother was murdered, and the review showed they did not believe the death to be suicide. And the footage mysteriously having issues as well. And the people who moved the body had no recollection of removing a noose.
This is nothing but a conspiracy, lol
Their political enemies:
Uh… let’s check with what Trump said last, raise or lower taxes? Take away or give guns? Drugs bad or good? Cartels bad or good? War bad or good? Raping kids bad or good?
Who are our enemies anyways?
Ooh I know. We still hate anyone who says people should be treated equal and or fair.
Settings>Apps>Phone> Screen calls, there are 3 options for that. One let’s all through, one screens them and gives you a text transcript, the last sends them all to voicemail with a silent ring so it doesn’t disturb you.

8·6 days agoWell if we think about the truth of it they expect if someone ever got back into office that wasn’t a sycophant, they will try to unify the population and not outright fire everyone that was unjustly put in these positions. If they did they will cry and scream at the top of their lungs saying it was a partisan agenda intentionally trying to split the nation and cause havoc. And every major media source in the U.S. will side with it because it will make sure the rich keeping getting richer.
The odds that the U.S. can be saved are extraordinary slim. Especially without huge changes.
If you don’t arrest and punish those who betrayed the nation for their own gains, they win. If you do arrest them and punish them, their families will inherit the money and use the actions to drive as many wedges as they can for personal gain. (See turning point or whatever since Kirk got killed).
There won’t be enough senators/members of the house that will upset donors to allow a complete overhaul of the tax system in a 4 year term. The U.S. may already be dead.
LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•If you made $50,000 a year and donated 0.06%, you'd donate $30... that's it.
81·6 days agoA lot of the Gates foundation goes towards infectious diseases, maternity and child care (around the world).
It’s done for tax breaks of course, but that’s the dumb system we accept.
I would have thought taxing wealth and distributing not based off individuals decisions but rather global/national networks and experts would be the best way, but hell… The way this current administration is siphoning funds out of everything including the military to push a partisan agenda shows that could go horribly wrong as well

Funny: Home of the Haha@lemmy.world•This goes all the way to the top
4·6 days agoI agree, I’m going to mention something I’ve mentioned before though because I love it as a base for why one world one human should be prevent. (BS I just made up now). When France and Italy got hit hard by root rot, trade ended up happening with the U.S. as in people found roots in California and elsewhere did not suffer the same rot, so they grafted the grapes onto roots from the americas to ensure all of Italy/Frances vineyards didn’t die, in the trading it also led to California finding access to many of the grapes that were used in Europe, thus making it a very good grower of modern day wines. It’s how the world should work on my opinion, not about the profit side, but about the survival side and helping each other overcome devastating events that could change areas forever

Kentucky tried to do the same with Bourbon Whiskey, saying if it was made outside of Kentucky you’d have to call it something else, but I don’t believe that stuck

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why is the herd mentality so common on Lemmy?
4·7 days agoWhat instances have you seen that on? Definitely should mention it/report it to those in charge of those instances and if they refuse to address it at least block those instances or if large enough of a problem discuss defederating the instance from your own.
That said, calling for people who commit illegal acts or crimes against humanity to be charged with crimes is different than calling for someone to have their nails ripped off and partially drown repeatedly.
