Abstract
Open peer commentary on the article “Collaborative Social Work: Bridging the Individual and Society” by Lea Šugman Bohinc. Abstract: I reflect upon Šugman Bohinc’s advocacy of postmodern ideas for enhancing collaborative social work practice. I contrast a modern, standardized approach to helping with the dialogical focus on collaboration described by Šugman Bohinc. I conclude by exploring how modern helping practice may further social injustices by obscuring the significance of relationships for a focus on personal wellbeing.
