To foster a healthy internet through a diverse browser market and to improve browsers for European users.

The internet is better when no single browser or rendering engine dominates the market. If we don't want a repeat of the stagnation during the IE6 period, then we should not accept dominance of a single browser. Instead, we should strive to a diverse ecosystem of browsers and browser engines.

The Plan

Document how to build websites against standards and how to build websites that are not browser-specific.

Evangelise about the importance of browser diversity and standards support to website owners, website developers, and end users.

Support companies in making their websites standards compliant and support all common browsers. Support users in moving to other browsers.

Improve non-dominant browsers to strengthen the competition in the browser market and to better support European users.

Consider cloning or adopting an open source browser project to build a browser in Europe, for Europeans.
