New Blog

Hello folks,

You might have noticed I don't post as much as I have been recently. While this thing is still my pride and joy (and will most definitely reach 1000 posts by the end of the year), I have a new blog. For the Love of Pun is my non-gaming blog. It's about a variety of topics, from feminism, to body positiviy, to self improvement. While is a place of reason and experience, my bleeding heart comes out quite a bit. It probably isn't something that would interest you folks, but I'm giving it a plug here so that if you notice me slacking off a bit with posts, you know why.

P is for Pun

For those of you that don't know (which is probably most of you), my nickname is Pun. I'd like to say that it's related to my undergraduate studies in literature or something like that but its actually an old high school nickname. It was given to me because I'm a fat guy and at the time I was given the name, there was an overweight rapper named Big Punisher that was getting airplay.It doesn't bother me now (nor did it bother me then).

I thought it would be fun to stat myself out for the World of Darkness. If I were to apply one of the supernatural templates I'd probably be a Changeling or one of Geist's Bound. However for stat purposes I made myself a mortal. I'm not a "balanced" character and I tried to stat myself out as closely to my (perceived) abilities. Plus I thought it'd be fun to talk about myself in the third person.

Justin "Pun" Isaac

Background: Justin (or Pun as he's known to his friends) was born into an average middle class family. He grew up a fundamentalist Baptist (by his own choice surprisingly). An obese child, he focused his time on his studies which would eventually earn him a full ride to a local university. His studies focused on English/Humanities. During this time he became disillusioned with his Faith and began to research the occult and alternate religions. He taught for a bit upon graduation, before deciding to go to graduate school (for library sciences). Having problems getting a steady job with his Masters, he's currently going back to school for a third degree (this time in the Health Sciences field).

Pun was married for a while, but doesn't really like to talk about that time of his life. The one bright spot is his young son, which is a great source of inspiration and keeps him moving forward.

Description: Pun is a 29 year old instructor and former librarian. He's an overweight man with sandy blonde hair (interspersed with silver streaks). He's rarely seen not sporting some sort of golden brown facial hair. He tends to wear simple clothes (t-shirt and jeans or cargo pants)

Storytelling Hints: Pun isn't the most adventurous sort, but he's a good source of info. Because of his years in academia and as a librarian, he has sharply honed research skills. Also, while he's not the strongest, he has a definite sense of right and wrong and will step into a fray to help his friends or innocents.
