Solemn and lushly recorded, Mindspawn's debut on Italian label, Inner Gravity Records bespeaks a dark ambient similar to the tribal Sephiroth and orchestral Lustmord or Raison d'ętre.
With the thanks list claiming among such acts as Coph Nia and The [Law-rah] Collective notably are the two literary giants of modern horror and fantasy in the Americas in the early half of the 20th century, Howard Lovecraft whose woven stories of spatial and temporal nihilism embodied itself in cosmic deities tumid, malign and alien, and Bob (Robert) E. Howard who brought to the world Conan, Solomon Kane, King Kull and numerable others. Like these writers, Mindspawn boasts a talented mien expressed in the nether-umbra of electronica and ambient.
The album constantly evolves, efflorescing from moment to moment; mad alien cries ululate in plumes rising to thunderous roiling clouds, torn fragments of tribalism blister over sacred drones, lucent glimpses give light to the dark but only as reminder of where one truly is. The album does not replicate darkness of humankind but instead speaks to the fear of the unknown, prodigious supernal music for the Great Old Ones; multi-faceted, unspeakable, immemorial and otherworldly - Mindspawn broaches the very boundaries of sanity where humankind is but the briefest of breath in a fragile world where fulsome gods sleep dreams that bleed fear into the waking world. As such, Mindspawn promulgates a suspended anxiety, prelude to the inevitability and futility of existence.
Released in simple jewel case with 8-page heavy stock booklet, replete in themes of Ancient Egypt, scarred throughout the booklet that contains the thoughts and proposed ideas behind the track in poetic shell.
