What is a community
A community is a social group whose members have something in common, such as a shared government, geographic location, culture, and heritage. A community is also a group sharing a common understanding, and often the same language, law, and tradition. A community helps connect the same kind of people with a common mind. Another meaning of a community is a group of people living independently to solve problems and create solutions that benefit themselves. One example of a community is the local market, the ‘community’ of traders and vendors are placed together to succeed independently to make sales. Although they may be competitors, technically, they are a community, because they relate to one another’s stress, communicate on various levels, socialize and exist in the same energy.
Community of Friends.
Hanging around the older generation, you would notice that they have some “circle” of friends that may not get to see each other every now and then due to personal activities, kids, work and life as a whole. One thing you would notice is the time they give each other for a hang out, from birthdays to burials, you would get to see that old friend, old bestfriend and former school friend. Their community is quite an admirable one, because although life may be happening(individually) they would get to communicate well. I was at a birthday party (a typical somewhat traditional birthday party) a week ago,the celebrant is an uncle to a friend, he just got to 60 years, and was also celebrating his new kid. I took my time to do a little research, to observe the sorrounding, the guests and the energy around. I noticed that, majority of the guests were close-family, relatives, friends and the peer-group. The community comes through for their own, the community brings support.
