In 1904, L Frank Baum released The Marvelous Land of Oz, a sequel to his classic novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, introducing the world to Ozma, the lost princess of Oz. Daisy Finch McGuire reimagines this sequel as a trans coming of age story in her webcomic, Yellow Brick Ramble.

In this retelling, we meet Tip Tryfle: an ordinary boy living in Oz who wishes he was an ordinary girl living in Oz. When Tip’s mother, a wicked-ish witch, threatens to give him a haircut, he runs away with a pumpkin-head named Jack and Logan, a very charming young talking saw-horse. On a road trip across Oz with no destination Tip and his friends discover their true selves.
