Up until Core v30 Bitcoin has never had a feature intentionally designed to host non-financial content. It only had financial features hijacked to hold non-financial content.

Used to it. So the name calling when I talk about Zcash in public doesn't hurt.
But also -- in hindsight -- I was a speculator. Which is why I'm massively diversified from crypto now.
I've talked with a number of people (2013 Bitcoin era) who are doing this.
Early Bitcoiners are open-minded, used to uncertainty, and not very dogmatic as a cohort.
