    Answer carefully, Lopin!

Isher: Having a minor panic attack as she thinks about things she’s been trying not to.
Lopin: Stares in “I regret asking this question”.

    • NobleCuriosity

My first read of Lopin’s expression was “trying not to laugh.”

But on second glance….yeah I can see some “Uh oh how do I answer this” in there.

If that’s the medical area that there in, Than I can see Kass ether walking in just about now to check up on Isher, Or she’s been there listing from around the corner after walking in and pausing when she heard them talking

    • Pretty sure it’s back up in their quarters, because the medical section looks different and they likely sent her back up after properly treating the wound, though that raises the question of why Lopin wanderered in, or why she slept in her uniform. Perhaps she doesn’t normally have a place to sleep there and decided not to go home last night?

… suddenly wondering, if she had gone hime, would Yannit be there…

Even though Lopin and Isher are likely both regretting this conversation right now, this is a really important catharsis for Isher to get through. Lopin … just keep being the best boy.

I love this page. Because this is exactly one of the things I love in transformation trope. The consequences. Complications. If your partner is suddenly someone else. Something else. How would you react, how would you cope. It doesn’t only change the character transformed, but anyone and anything around them as well. I already praised this comic for showing psychological/sociological changes in Kass, but man, it’s still going on on this topic. I really, really love it.

    • Part of me feels like this is continuing some of the transgender themes, as it’s relatively common for spousal relationships to break down when one person starts transitioning, simply because the other person isn’t interested in that body type.

    Delving deeply in dark sorrow
    for attraction fallen away
    and aversity to vapid thoughts,
or so she fears. Is it a sin to want
a relationship whole, with lust not gone,
for a horned maiden? Or has she simply
lost love’s meaning? Lopin has regrets.

  7. Golly, this story just keeps delving into so many questions about romance and sexuality, with Isher grappling with her own heterosexuality and lack of xenophilia. Of course, it’s perfectly natural to no longer be sexually attracted to someone if their body changes drastically in a way that makes them no longer sexually attractive to you, as is’s obvious from stating it. I think she focused too much on the sexy man aspect of why she liked him, and now needs to remind herself of the fact that he’s a good friend.
