Malavika Binny, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Kannur University, has been selected as the Inherit Fellow for 2026-2027 from India at the prestigious Kate Hamburger Centre for Advanced Study at Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany.

Dr. Binny’s work on critical caste studies focusing on caste artefacts or the correlation between what is understood as heritage materials and caste has gained her recognition.

She is the co-editor of the work titled ‘Goddesses of South Asia; Traditions and Transformations’ and the author of the forthcoming work ‘Polyphonic Ayurveda’. She was the recipient of the Erasmus Mundus fellowship for Visiting PhD during her PhD studies in Jawaharlal Nehru University as well as the recipient of the Elamkulam Kunjan Pillai Young Historian Award instituted by Kerala History Congress.
