Chartered Membership

In the UK and internationally. Chartered Membership is exclusive to qualified architects. Chartered members can add the letters RIBA after their name.

Chartered Practice

In the UK and internationally. Sole practitioners, small, medium or large practices, can become a RIBA Chartered Practice.

International Affiliate Membership

For those working outside the UK who are not eligible for our Chartered Membership but are licensed to practice as an architect.

Student Membership

Free membership for architecture students studying on a RIBA recognised Part 1 or 2 course or on a year out.

Associate Membership

In the UK and internationally. Associate Membership is exclusively for professionals with a Part 1 and 2, or EU equivalent qualifications.

Fellows Membership

For inspirational Chartered Members, the sometimes unsung heroes of the profession, who have made a real contribution to architecture and the community.

Reduced rates

Reduced subscription fees are available to any individual experiencing financial difficulty or a change in personal circumstances and earning less than £25,000 a year after tax. We also offer a retired rate for our Chartered members who have retired from all architectural work.

Retired Chartered Membership

If you are a qualified architect who is now retired from the profession
