Keeping it real like a meal deal made of pure steal; Vektah returns to Break's Symmetry imprint with four spanking dnb cuts that rip and sizzle as if they came from Break's DAW itself. 'Stay Real' opens up with an intro that's perfect for the sunnier times and drops into a really cool but understated bassline. It's backed up by the tight and funk grumbler 'My Selektah', 'Hands Up' dusts off some old hardcore stabs for a bit of ravey fun while 'Where I Wanna Be' closes the set with a warm and euphoric balance of slinky feels. Real talk.

Get Fly (Dave 'Love' Lee Mixes)Z Records
Z Records chief Dave Lee continues to dust down and rework records that inspired him in his youth. In recent years, he's delivered countless killer revisions of disco and boogie gems, and here offers up four passes on T.J Swann & Company's 1981 disco-rap rarity, 'Get Fly'. Cannily, Lee pays tribute to MFSB classic 'Love Is The Message' (with more than a few nods to Salsoul Orchestra's 'Love Break') on the rolling, peak-time-ready thrills of the 'Rock The Message' mix and the accompanying rap-free dub. The 'Uptown Lowdown' mix and dub, meanwhile, combine bits of Swann and company's early '80s original with elements familiar from Boz Scaggs' blue-eyed soul anthem 'Lowdown'. Clever stuff from Lee, as expected, with predictably playable results.

Free Living EPRekids
More known for their techno history, Berlin's house underground has long thrived on producers who understand the power of groove. Daniel Steinberg has spent more than two decades proving he's one of them. With the Free Living EP, he makes his debut on Rekids, the influential imprint founded by Matt Edwards (better known as Radio Slave). Daniel's sound fits in perfect with Rekids' long-standing reputation for strong club music. The title track "Free Living" puts things into action with a restrained down-low house groove. The blues-tinged vocal and catchy trumpet samples work great over the top. A gently pulsing bassline and delicate piano accents guide the arrangement toward its breaks, where everything comes together. After the break, the groove returns even deeper and rides to the end triumphantly. "Concrete" features an old-school hip-hop spirit with rap snippets reminiscent of Run-D.M.C.'s raw attitude over a stronger more demonstrative beat. "Seven Sense" goes more for Chicago territory with a killer warehouse energy that will not be denied. Closing track "Perfect Catch" keeps the party rolling, withloopy chords that spiral into a clever, hypnotic rhythm. All and all, Daniel makes a strong but not surprising, excellent debut on Rekids.

Black Jack EPREK'D
Next up on Rekids' sub-label is this collaboration between Italian producers ProOne79 and MAGNVM! The duo's ability to straddle Chicago house and minimal sounds means that Black Jack is an impressive release. ProOne79 flies solo on "Nobody Else". Resounding to a jacking groove, it provides the backdrop for a vocal narrative about unrequited love - making for raw, powerful dance music. A gritty aesthetic also prevails on the pair's co-productions. "Feel Free" is fueled by a grinding bass and dank drums, with steely percussion peppered through the arrangement. "Back" follows in a similar vein. With a focus on a low-slung bassline and a looped vocal, it closes out the release in style.

And The Pattern RepeatsPrimal Instinct
With a catalogue that spans releases on Soma, Klockworks and Blueprint, Temudo makes the move to Berlin imprint Primal Instinct for his latest EP. Despite its title, Pattern Repeats is anything but repetitive. "Over You" is an angular, percussive rhythm with a hypnotic, loopy feel. "U Used to Laugh At My Jokes" draws on a similar aesthetic, but it is powered by steely drums and snappy percussion. "Lax To Ams" sees Temudo serve up an idiosyncratic take on minimal techno, centered on sub-bass drops and a chattering rhythm. The title track draws on different influences, as dreamy, swirling synths unfold over a nagging bassline - making for a blissed out finale.

No MoreSaint Wax
The latest missive on Mexican deep house stable Saint Wax is an imprint debut from Damian Rausch, a German producer best-known for prior releases on Apparel Music, Monologues Records, Mole Music and Cacao Records. Rausch heads straight for the peak-time party zone on breakbeat-driven opener 'No More', a thickset and nostalgia deep house bumper marked out by effects-laden diva vocal snippets and cut-up funk samples, before offering up the smoother, New Jersey garage-house influenced deepness of 'Livin' and the organ-rich, sub-heavy bounce of 'Stand Up'. Saint Wax has served up two tidy revisions, too, with the Funk District's piano-powered peak-time deep house take on 'No More' being joined by a percussion-rich, Latin-tinged take on 'Party in the City' courtesy of label regular Gledd.
