🧼 Friendly reminder - Clean Your Notifications!! (G)

TL;DR - Clean your notifications! They are slowing the site down, taking up server space and making maintenance harder for the site technicians. If you don't, they will be automatically deleted for you if enough time passes!
So the site is undergoing another maintenance and update, which is good! 



...But I'd like to bring to attention something that has been going over alot of people's heads since FA staff and technicians first addressed it months ago, and that would be our notifications that are causing clutter on the main site server. 



I don't know the specifics on how it works (how would I anyway? I'm not one of the site techs, haha) but they have mentioned multiple times that uncleared notifications are "putting a lot of stress on the infrastructure" and "taking up over a Terabyte of space" among other issues such as slowdowns, lockups, performance issues, etc., which leads to them eventually just getting auto-deleted to keep the site running smoothly. 



However, from what I also have heard and seen from the community, many people seem to have... gotten rather attached to their notif collection for varying reasons, most commonly that seeing the notifs there simply makes them happy. I like seeing notifs too! (Especially comments) but... they can't stay there forever. Again, they are causing site issues and taking up space, and the staff have come to the conclusion to auto delete them after enough time has passed.



With this upcoming maintenance, I politely ask to do your part, check out whatever or as many notifs as you can and please clear them out to free up server space on the site and more importantly, ensure a stable maintenance process for the techs that are safeguarding all of our galleries here.



FA is honestly IMO, is one of the last down-to-earth furry gallery sites that emphasizes enjoyment of art as a central focus. And don't you all would like to keep this place in operation and come back to admire and socialize over some epic and classic pieces yall found here? Other gallery sites don't have as big, talkative or inclusive of a userbase, and stuff posted on social media never last long and get forgotten. Let's do our part to help make this maintenance quick and easy for the hardworking techs keeping this site up and running for us for free!
