As tributes to the Diane Keaton role out, her California hometown is unveiling its plans to honor the acting icon.
On Monday, Santa Ana Mayor Valerie Amezcua shared plans for the city to add a street sign topper near Santa Ana High School to memorialize the Godfather actress, who died on Saturday at 79.
Santa Ana is the county seat of Orange County, just to the south of Los Angeles County, and it is considered part of the Greater Los Angeles area.
The sign topper near the high school would be a fitting tribute to Keaton, as graduated from Santa Ana High School back in 1963.
While speaking to TMZ, Amezcua added that she planned to close the following city council meeting with a tribute to Keaton.
The mayor wasn't the only member of Santa Ana's local government working to preserve the Oscar-winning star's memory.

Santa Ana Council Member David Penaloza told the publication that he and other Council members were trying to get the city manager to illuminate the Santa Ana Water Tower at night in her honor.
The iconic water tower, a designated landmark, was constructed back in 1928, and it is a regular site for drivers on the I-5 freeway.
The city council members are hoping to replicate an earlier tribute to the late Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
After his tragic death in a helicopter crash in January 2020, the 153-foot-tall water tower was lit up with Lakers purple at night.
A similar purple-tinged tribute had honored Prince following his overdose death in 2016.
It's not clear yet what colors would be best to honor Keaton.
City Council Member Jessie Lope went on to tell TMZ that the council was also exploring how to designate a day honoring Keaton.
However, the process reportedly requires a council member to request the honorary day, at which point either one of Keaton's family members who a close friend would need to receive the proclamation in her place.

On Monday, it was also revealed that Keaton's last major public outing was at a star-studded birthday gathering for her friend Jack Nicholson.
She starred with her fellow Hollywood icon in 2003 Something's Gotta Give.
Comic star Ed Begley Jr. told People that he last saw Keaton at the birthday bash.
'I saw her fairly recently at Jack Nicholson's birthday party, and it was good to see her there,' Begley, 76, said of Keaton.
'She's a wonderful actress, a wonderful lady. I played her brother in an HBO film called Running Mates with Ed Harris. So I'm glad I knew her these many years.'
Begley added that he assumed Nicholson was as 'devastated' by the loss as he was, though he clarified that he didn't want to speak for the Shining star.
