Our Beginnings

Codee began as Appentra Solutions, a spin-off from the University of A Coruña, founded in 2012.  It was the result of more than a decade of world-class international research in advanced compiler technologies and programming environments—focused on automatic parallelization of sequential code to help developers tackle the growing complexity of programming high-performance software for cutting-edge hardware.

This research was led by Manuel Arenaz, PhD, who continues to serve as Codee’s CEO and CTO. His vision: to empower developers with tools that make complex computing more accessible, reliable, and efficient.

Today, Codee builds on these foundations to deliver tools that help organizations worldwide develop correct, maintainable, and high-performing simulation software in Fortran, C, and C++.
