You are welcome daddybear but may I suggest that you not be so hasty, we can walk you through the required + it will cost you nothing, if you do. all you need to do is download and save to a USB stick the chipset and the AMD graphics drivers from here and download Windows 11 from the Cloud,  a nice clear guide for the latter here

Once you have done the above you then install first the chipset and then the AMD graphics driver being sure to restart after the installation of each driver, the rest of newer PC hardware will normally get by fine using the generic Windows 11 drivers.

Can I ask you to something for us before you do anything else;

Check for and install any new Windows 11 drivers that should be suggested.

Restart the PC, run Speccy and post the new Speccy url in your next reply.

Sorry Phill but I have had enough of this now. If it comes to a new PC then I'm happy to do that - written off more expense anyway.

Why do you want me to do the Speccy thing ?  I have no idea where to find the Win 11 drivers.

Writing the PC off is a bit drastic imho, doing a clean install is very straightforward

We can tell from Speccy whether or not Windows iis installing updates, if it is getting it fully up to date may actually help with your present issues but if Windows is not installing updates it means one of two things, the OS is corrupt or unlicensed..

I avised which and from where to get the required drivers in my reply #46.

Hi, may I state that you have Updated the BIOS, Updated and Downloaded and Installed the new Chipset.

The above is where asking for TPM and other work which is a toggle switch on the screen, The other is installing Drivers.

You have done both so there is actually nothing stopping you other than you.   You ask for patience, yet you give yourself none.

All is achievable when following instructions as you have the laptop to look at and read and follow instructions and able to ask questions while doing so.

These days being your own tech is one of the most important things you can do.  How else would things get done.  If a senior suggest see if there are Senior help available at local community centre and as well as low cost courses.

Nothing is beyond you as you have got this far in life that a hunk of metal should not be allowed to win.  Is just meta. when it does not work.

What ever your next steps are I do not think you give yourself enough credit :=}

Recurrent crashes and random adverts—removed malware but now getting system errors. I urgently need stability for my SR Blinds website.

@Srblinds PLEASE don't hijack other people's threads. Please start your own thread. If you're getting BSODs then please follow the BSOD posting instructions and start a NEW thread here. If your problem is NOT a BSOD or crash then please start a NEW thread in the general Windows 10 or Windows 11 forum.

@daddybear I too don't think you need to scrap the PC you have. I appreciate that you don't feel competent doing your own troubleshooting but treat this as a learning experience, we can help you learn how to troubleshoot your own PC.

But it's entirely your call....

I'm not impressed by that article at all. All he really says is that you can mix RAM and still boot, though he concedes there may be some performance issues. What he doesn't mention is the possibility of BSODs and crashes - because that's what we see here. I never EVER mix RAM and I would never EVER advise others to do so. Experience on here (and on other fora) shows that there are times when mixing RAM causes BSODs and crashes. If the dumps and logs are pointing towards RAM being at fault then I ALWAYS look to see whether the user is mixing RAM. If they are then that's the first thing to check.

Hi, ya I thought the same thing.   Is very light on the issues as you mention that we see here in large quantities.  I never see any comments on that site.

The author of the article did manage to get a couple of things correct but overall the information is not much use to anyone imho.
