From /dev/hack

/dev/hack has a reputation

this exists in a very unknown sate

some things to be aware when considering devhack's reputation:

  • members are invited to interface with outside organizations, to peer with them, to talk to them, whatever else. Sometimes this requires speaking "on behalf of devhack". this in and of itself isn't a problem, but requires care to not tarnish our relationship with others'. Feel free to double check with other members/leadership if you don't feel confident in your skills doing this. See: Foreign Relations Hat
  • communication protocols with homeserver-identities, such as email, matrix, or perhaps even IRC, has implied amounts of reputation linkage. Ask yourself: who gets to speak or receive under these identities? Can any devhack guest have an :devhack.net matrix account? That federates elsewhere? Can any devhack guest have an email account? That can send elsewhere?

acting as a distributed organization that has a singular identity and branding when interfacing elsewhere is very complicated
