ヒトの内から外へと向かって出ていく音楽が、次第に思想や政治に絡みとられていくなか、Twothは逆の道行きをたどる。外から内へ。エクスプレッションではなくインプレッション。聴くことから始まる音楽は、現在の東京の印象画であり、来るべきアジアの時代の音風景である。

Twothは近年「音を聴く」という行為そのものにフォーカスしながら、独自の音楽活動を続けている。そのまなざしは明治以前の日本人の聴覚や美的感覚にも向けられている。私たちはどのように音を聞き、どのように音を感じてきたのだろうか。そうした問いかけは、近年取り組んできた銀座三越など公共空間のBGM制作にも反映されている。
　Twothみずからが「再出発の一歩」とするこの作品は、「いま自分自身が踊りたくなる音楽」をテーマに制作されている。ここではヒップホップをルーツとするビートメイカー／プロデューサーとしての側面が全面に出ており、近年関わってきたプロジェクトとは異なり、あくまでもTwothのパーソナルな感覚が反映されている。ヘヴィーなベースラインとキック、ヒップホップ由来ともいえるサンプリングのセンス、現行ダンスミュージックのさまざまなエッセンス。それらが渾然一体となり、今までにないTwothの音世界が描き出されている。
　匿名性の高いダンストラックでありつつ、フォークロアの香りもほのかに。東京という大都市の風景が浮かび上がってくるかのような、世界でここだけのダンスミュージック集である。

「ある種の音楽」を聴いた後、なにかが劇的に変わっていることがある。気持ちは軽やかになり、すべてが簡単なことのように感じられ、力が湧いてくる。それに加え、自分に圧倒的好意をもつなにかにより、防護のための衣服が着せられたかのような安心感。
「ある種の音楽」は全てを一変する。
未来は明るくなり、希望に満ち溢れる。

「ある種の音楽」は人によってまちまちだが、TWOTHの「Be Your Whole Self」は誰かにとってのそれになり得る。なぜなら、少なくとも私にとってそうだったからだ。

「ある種の音楽」との出会いは、強制的にこれまでの自分を過去のものとし、自覚のないままに新しい自分を出現させる。
そんな音楽を作ってきたTWOTHというひとりの人間のこだわり、葛藤、プライド、サービス精神、優しさ、残酷さ、強さといった彼の人間性の一面が存分に内包された「Be Your Whole Self」が誰かの元に届くことを願って。
