Kanji World is a small generative art toy where a world is created by scattering characters across the screen. Kanji appear one by one, in different sizes and colors, filling the canvas until the world becomes complete.

This project originally began as a quiet analog idea using paper, a pencil, and dice — a simple way to create a world through randomness. The digital version expands that idea with color, scale, spacing, and a gentle sense of the world “filling up”.

You can start with the default set of kanji, or create your own world using the custom list. The custom list accepts any characters you can type — kanji, symbols, emojis, or anything else. Try mixing different shapes to generate your own abstract landscapes.

In default mode, this tool creates worlds by arranging kanji characters, so some kanji with strong or unpleasant meanings — such as “urine” (尿) or “pus” (膿) — may appear. This is part of the randomness of the default kanji set.

If you prefer to build a world using only characters you choose, you can enter your own list in the custom field.

If you want to create your own kanji list, you can also ask an AI tool. For example, you can say: “Please give me a list of kanji with positive or beautiful meanings.”

Press the button (or the space key) to add a new shape to the world. When the world is full, it will quietly let you know. If you want to view the completed world without the message, you can dismiss it by pressing the menu button.

You are free to interpret the results however you like, but this is not a fortune‑telling tool — it is meant for enjoying shapes and randomness, so there is no need to read deep meaning into the characters that appear.

Kanji World は、文字を画面に散りばめて世界を作る、小さなジェネレーティブアートの玩具です。 漢字がひとつずつ、色や大きさを変えながら現れ、世界が満ちていきます。

この作品はもともと、紙と鉛筆とサイコロを使って世界を作るという、静かなアナログの発想から始まりました。 デジタル版では、色・サイズ・配置・“世界が満ちる感覚” が加わり、その発想が大きく広がっています。

デフォルトの漢字セットから始めてもいいし、カスタムリストを使って自分だけの世界を作ることもできます。 カスタムリストには、入力できる文字なら何でも使えます。漢字、記号、絵文字など、どんな形でも世界の素材になります。 いろいろな形を混ぜて、抽象的な風景を作ってみてください。

デフォルトモードでは、漢字を素材にして世界を作るため、 「尿」や「膿」など、意味が強かったり不快に感じる漢字が出る場合があります。 これはデフォルトの漢字セットに含まれるランダム性の一部です。

自分の好きな文字だけで世界を作りたい場合は、 カスタム欄に独自のリストを入力して利用できます。

ボタン（またはスペースキー）を押すと、新しい形が世界に加わります。 世界が満ちると、そっと知らせてくれます。 表示されたメッセージを消して全体を眺めたい場合は、メニューボタンを押すと非表示にできます。

もちろん自由に解釈して楽しんでいただいて構いませんが、 これは占いツールではなく、形とランダム性を楽しむためのものです。 表示される漢字の意味を深読みする必要はありません。
