A US air base 20 miles outside Abu Dhabi was apparently struck.

Reports of sirens blaring across the Entity, missiles incoming from Iran. Thankfully did not take them fifteen hours to come up with a response. I expect we’ll see some cruise missiles headed to the Gulf as well.

You know, an early morning missile strike (at least initial reports making it seem like one) by Israel is not how I thought this thing was gonna kick off.
Reports of explosions in Tehran, looks like the Israelis launched a “pre-emptive” strike, possibly to destroy any chance of the negotiations working out. It begins.
EDIT: In typical Israeli fashion, all the strikes thus far are in civilian areas clearly targeting high ranking Iranian officials, reportedly even the Presidental Palace.
“The operation was planned over months and the date was set weeks ago” - Israeli security source to Reuters.
CNN confirms U.S. involvement in the strikes in Iran, according to two U.S. officials. One official said the strikes are in progress, describing them as “not a small strike.”
Just personal opinion, but I don’t think the United States can maintain this kind of state of readiness until March 19th. This weekend feels far more likely; what else are they even gonna “negotiate” for another month about?

Wrong wording, obviously it’s great that 200+ million are no longer in extreme poverty. Unfortunate in the sense that it’s an easy thing to point to the superiority of communist China vs capitalist India in a debate that is now slightly more muddled. That said a lot of the poverty reduction in India is still state run, and the only region that has eliminated extreme poverty is Kerala, which is run by communists.

A reminder that we are now firmly inside the event horizon for war between the US and Iran. As a result, all news is now suspect, oft times used as weapons to decieve or psych out the other side. Tonight there were many reports that US bases in Qatar have been evacuated, but US officials have denied that. True? Doesn’t matter. We have no way of knowing if that is intended as a strategy to make Iran be in a heightened state of readiness all weekend but no attack happens and thereby tire them out, if the denial is an attempt to disuade Iran from striking first because they’ll kill a lot of Americans and thereby guarentee a giant response, some other combination of feights and plots, I haven’t a clue. Just remember that every piece of information we get is being used for something, one way or the other. The dooming on here and elsewhere during the first day or so of the 12 Day War was unbearable. I expect the same this time, but let’s keep a clear head everybody.
Surprising nobody, not only is Trump ignoring the Supreme Court order to stop levying tariffs using his current justification, he’s levying a new 10% global tariff on all countries just because.
Trump said that his order would be made under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 and the duties would be over and above tariffs that are currently in place.
