  • Le Samouraï was my last movie, do I have to do the job in the same country as the movie? Because I don’t speak French well, so being a French hitman probably wouldn’t work out too well for me. The pay would be good though I’d reckon.

    Side note, excellent movie. It’s my third time I’ve seen it now, I’d highly recommend it. Just put on English captions if you don’t understand French, and enjoy. It does require paying attention to, it’s not the kind of movie to have in the background, so keep that in mind.

  • I’d definitely say to either go Emerald or HG/SS next. I’d say those are the two peaks of the series.

    For Gens 1 and 2, honestly they’re pretty rough these days. I like them but I don’t think someone just entering the series now will enjoy them much. They’re super janky and are missing a lot of features. Gen 2 is my favourite (hence HGSS being my favourite games as they’re just the Gen 2 remakes) but they’re not easy to get into these days. After Gen 4 the series goes a little downhill imo but it’s still good. I have no experience past Gen 7 though as I don’t have a switch and haven’t learned how to emulate one yet.

  • Which will then probably tell you that it conflicts with vulkan-mesa-device-select and asks if you want to replace it. Which might either work or just get you another conflict because vulkan-mesa-device-select is required by some other package.

    Yeah, basically. This was my result:

    sudo pacman -S vulkan-mesa-implicit-layers
    resolving dependencies...
    looking for conflicting packages...
    :: vulkan-mesa-implicit-layers-1:25.3.5-2 and vulkan-mesa-device-select-1:25.2.6-2 are in conflict. Remove vulkan-mesa-device-select? [y/N] y
    error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
    :: removing vulkan-mesa-device-select breaks dependency 'vulkan-mesa-device-select' required by lib32-vulkan-mesa-device-select
    :: removing vulkan-mesa-device-select breaks dependency 'vulkan-mesa-device-select' required by vulkan-intel

    Btw… pacman -Qi <package name> usually tells you anything you need to know about a package. In this context mainly why it was installed (as a requirement for which package) and which other packages are required as a dependency.

    So maybe you should take one step back first. Check why 'vulkan-mesa-device-select` was installed in the first place.

    Okay so I tried that and got:

    pacman -Qi vulkan-mesa-device-select

    Seems it’s necessary, so I tried sudo pacman -S vulkan-mesa-device-select and it gave me no trouble, so then I ran sudo pacman -Syu and after just under 10 minutes everything updated! Seems to work again. Thank you very much for the help, I really do appreciate it.
