First things first: AI models have become really good at handling text, so your translation should be really good too! Authors are reporting massive time savings using our service, with some publishing their translations almost immediately.

For publication, we still recommend doing a proofreading of the translation to ensure it's error-free and the AI didn't get confused anywhere. Depending on the degree of control you want over the output, this can go from a light spot-checking to a deeper style review.

Author mode will give you the best result in terms of fluency and consistency across the book. If you want maximum control over the style, you can add custom instructions and/or give a reference material to get inspiration from, and the AI will follow it.

Working with thousands of users, we've built a custom pipeline that will automatically split your book, translate and analyze it, do quality and fluency control, retry and reflect... All of this to get you the best possible result. We don't just send your text to ChatGPT with a cute prompt!

To power this system, we currently use a blend of Google Gemini Pro 2.5, OpenAI GPT-5, and DeepSeek V3. These are some of the current very best AIs in the world, each with their particular flavor and style.

We're also always evaluating new models to find the best matches for your language pair and book style - it's a fast moving landscape, and we're passionate about this topic!

Unless your file is a PDF, the answer is a simple yes!

You'll get a translated file in the same format as the one you uploaded, and unless specified otherwise all formatting will be preserved. This includes images, tables, links and other typographic elements, as well as the full layout.

PDFs need to have their text extracted, so the final layout will change. We use a state-of-the-art advanced PDF analyzer that is at the top of current benchmarks, so we can still handle complex files while preserving semantic information.

If for some other reason your file format is complex and the layout will change, we will always warn you beforehand. Otherwise you'll get a beautiful book in the language of your choice in just a few minutes.

The price depends on the length of your book, the file format, the language and the structure of your file. You should upload your book to get a quote (uploaded files are automatically deleted within 24 hours if you don't purchase a translation).

To give you a general ballpark however, Author Mode often costs from 50€ to 300€, Pro Mode from 15€ to 50€, and Standard Mode from 5€ to 20€.

Since our AI takes uses resources to produce your translation, we can't guarantee refunds for reasons other than technical difficulties (we do guarantee you'll have a working translated file, of course). We recommend doing a free preview if you're unsure about the result.

If there's an issue with your file or if for some reason you`re not satisfied with your translation feel free to reach out and we'll see if we can improve things together - we do want you to be happy with your result.

We are always adding more supported formats. EPUB and ebooks work especially well, as well as DOCX, HTML, IDML or TXT. PDF files are notoriously difficult to handle: we recommend translating the original file that was used to create the PDF instead if you can, otherwise we do have a great PDF analyzer and we provide ample previews to help you get a sense of what the result will look like.

Because PDFs are a rigid format, we need to extract the text from your file, translate it, and then rebuild it. This process changes the layout: instead of replacing the text like in other formats, we have to build the file from scratch again. We have two analyzers - use the default one if the file is extremely simple (just the main text on full page, no footnotes or table or multiple columns), otherwise the advanced analyzer will give better results.

If you have access to it, we recommend using the file that was used to create the PDF instead - like a .docx or .idml file. This will preserve the layout much better. Do not try to convert your PDF file to another format though, we did a lot of research on what works best using our own PDF analyzer gives the best results (regular converters can turn PDFs into DOCXs that look good at first sight but are a complete mess internally, and are really hard to translate correctly).

We also support PDF made of scanned images: we use state-of-the-art OCR technology (following the latest benchmarks recommendations) to detect the text structure and extract the content from the images. It can handle tables and complex layout or preserve illustrations, though this will never be as good as using a native format.

We support InDesign .idml files perfectly, with the layout preserved. If your picture is a scanned PDF we can extract the text to translate it - the layout will change and the text won't be replaced in place (if there is a drawing with labels for example, either the system will consider it an illustration and include it as a picture or the text will be extracted and replace the image, but not both).

If you upload a file without ordering a translation, it will be deleted automatically from our server after 24h. All other uploaded files and translations are automatically deleted after a month (previews, after a week). You can ask for them to be deleted at any moment before.

We keep the metadata (like file name, topic, size...) for longer, to help us understand how the service is used over time. You can ask for deletion of this at any time if you'd like.

To run our chosen AI models we route parts of your file to providers that run the actual model for us; we only use providers that do not log the content of what's shared with them and do not train any AI model with it.
