Yeah alcohol works well. WD-40. too.

That is kind of just how non hall effect thumb sticks are. But I’ve had great luck with Deoxit D5. You have to take apart the controller so you can squirt it directly into the switch itself but as long as it’s not a mechanical problem like a weak spring, the Deoxit usually gets it working like new.

My concern is that those big beams (blue) end where they meet the plywood (yellow). Which means they are transferring their downward force into the board(s) highlighted in green. That in turn presses down on the vertical studs highlighted in red. These aren’t connected to anything on the bottom. So the weight from the beams gets supported by the screws attaching all these pieces to the plywood wall? Maybe if they’re just for looks and not structural support. Maybe that’s how it’s done in germany.

39·2 年前Holy shit, is that load bearing plywood on the far wall (with the rectangle window).
My friend, you need help from someone that knows what they are doing and familiar with local codes before proceeding any further.

My car insurance went up $1200 this year, which blows my mind. No reason given.
Kind of like jobs. If you stay with the same company for more than a couple years, you’re probably doing yourself a disservice.
They need very little water. Especially during winter. Seconding everything on the other comment too. I would repot them with fresh, well draining soil and if you see anything squishy and brown, cut it off. If you have to cut on the roots, leave it out for a day before putting it back in soil to let the cut callus over. Snake plants are tough, they won’t mind.
Depending on your local climate, they would probably make better indoor plants. They’ll tolerate low light areas that other plants won’t.

One of my mom’s that exploded the pot it was growing in. I wish I had got a better picture.
Squeeze a third of the bottle into the trash, replace missing portion with Underwood ranches Sriracha, shake well and squirt on anything edible.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.ml•Linux Gaming Distros: Ubuntu and Manjaro Fall Further Into Oblivion - February 2024English
7·2 年前Same here. Everything worked pretty much right out of the box with Nobara. And my total linux experience in the last decade is running Mint on my work laptop the last 3 months. I tried to switch over to linux gaming in the late 00s, but it was far too much work then. I spent more time getting X3 to work then I ever did playing it. Completely different experience these days.
They’re both varieties of Sansevieria (Snake Plant). Super easy to care for as long as you can refrain from watering them all the time.
Works with amazon too. Even if something is legitimately still under warranty and it breaks, it’s usually far less hassle just to buy another and return the broke one for a refund.

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•Target practice on U.S. national forest and BLM land needs to be regulated and confined.
302·2 年前So, all I am suggesting is that you take some acres in a corner somewhere in every forest and make a gun range. This would keep the noise and trash in one place and would also allow the forest rangers and BLM to police the areas and enforce rules and safety.
That definitely helps. The wildlife refuge nearest me is set up like that. As soon as you enter there is a nice, free, maintained shooting range right there. It does help corral the randos that just come out to make noise.
Overly simplistic and assuming you are talking about the US: So you spent 80M making a movie but for whatever reason it never makes it out of production, you never see any return on this investment. But overall this year you made 100M from something else. When you do your taxes, you can “write off” this 80M spent as a loss, so you only have to pay taxes on the remaining 20 million. It doesn’t deduct 80M from taxes owed.
Hadn’t thought of masking tape. A squirt of compressed air also works to get them to vacate the area temporarily.
Edit: In case it’s not obvious, DO NOT shoot compressed air directly at your cat! Just let it make the PSHHHHH noise.

It’s one of the messier options but it still works well. The switches in my logitech g604 have been bounce free for over a year now after hosing then down with WD-40. That’s longer than any of the warranty replacement mice lasted.
Deoxit leaves a residue, too, that will stain clothes. That residue is what helps the contacts from oxidizing again in the future.
