Grim Dawn is one of my favorite games of all time. I’ve played by myself and with others. Really fun doing challenge runs and trying out all sorts of builds. I love the atmosphere and the story, on top of that it has very good gameplay.

His eyeball pops out as I sit at a table nearby eating my spaghetti diner. And I can tell you, that’s the best spaghetti I ever had.

Just so you know, in the game this meme is from the small dude beats the big dude. But the meme is used in reverse so much, most people don’t know or care at this point.

Seems like a bit of a jump? Why would this impact screen recorders and stuff like OBS? Those tools can be used for plenty of use cases outside of the one mentioned.

I like it when an app seems a little bit poorly made, I can just try it out and when it doesn’t work I can simply delete it. Much better than installing it with some random shell script or handmade package file. You never know if installing won’t fuck up something or uninstalling it leaves stuff behind or removes stuff is shouldn’t.

There’s a few apps I use once in a blue moon to convert some files, they all sit in one little folder not hurting anything till I need them. That folder is pretty old and has moved multiple systems, but they still work great for what they do.

I hate AI itself plenty, but I hate the way regular people see AI even more. It’s marketed as being this super smart always right do everything machine. And people believe it, they actively argue the AI is right or has certain capabilities, even tho it’s obviously wrong and most certainly does not have those capabilities. They use it a lot and they keep on using it, even when it’s wrong all the time. And a lot of people know it’s wrong all the time, but they keep on using it. They gleefully exclaim their job is so much easier now that the AI does all the work. To me that just screams they were either bad at their job if the AI can do better, or they are now doing their job poorly with AI. And even if the AI did the job just fine, why would you be happy about that? That means you are going to get replaced by a bot.

We wouldn’t have so much issues with AI at the moment if people just used some common sense and not believe every bit of marketing they ever see.

Unfortunately it isn’t just the high end stuff which is feeling the crunch. These AI companies have bought up all the production capacity, which means there is less low-end stuff being produced. We’re still coasting on existing stock at the moment, but as that runs out prices will rise across the board.

It’s perfectly fine to post inspirational pics along side the real photos. I’ve seen this done way before AI was ever a thing. Sometimes a sketch, sometimes more photorealistic. It’s meant to communicate what would be possible in the space if one were to fix it up. I think somewhere around 2001 I saw software specifically for real estate to generate interiors with different layouts and color pallets and render them photorealistic. As long as the actual images are also included, it’s totally fine.
