STEM Global Action is a network and campaign that pursues the advancement of STEM education for children and communities everywhere. SGA is a resource for every individual, organization, government agency and others seeking to expand STEM education, especially in communities that have historically been under-resourced. SGA is where you come to learn more about the benefits of STEM and how these skills can change your life, and the lives of those in your community. We have state-of-the-art design and delivery of STEM-based activities, programs and events for K-12 students, families and communities. Our STEM Global Action programs provide unique interactive, hands-on learning experiences that help students of all ages deepen their knowledge of STEM skills, gain confidence in their abilities and chart a course for career opportunities in STEM-related fields.

Dr. Calvin Mackie Receives 2025 ASME Ralph Coats Roe Medal
NEW ORLEANS, LA — The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has named Dr. Calvin Mackie, Founder and CEO of STEM NOLA | STEM Global Action, the 2025 recipient of the ASME Ralph Coats Roe Medal — one of the most distinguished honors in the field of engineering.
The award recognizes individuals who have made “an outstanding contribution toward a better public understanding and appreciation of the engineer’s worth to contemporary society.” Dr. Mackie will officially receive the medal and deliver a keynote address at the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE) in Memphis, Tennessee, on November 18, 2025.
