Khanos Stadium

The Khanos Stadium on Angeli was built by Ulysses Messer X as part of a misguided effort to win back the Messers' public favor. ^[1]

Bombing

On the day of the stadium's opening on August 12, 2781 it was attacked in a bombing orchestrated by his own daughter Fiona Messer and a group of revolutionaries who had been recruited by his son Linton Messer in a coup. Ulysses subsequently committed suicide.^[1]

August Dunlow

Eleven-year-old August Dunlow was one of several model students selected to stand in a prominent position along the procession route through Angeli and enthusiastically wave a UEE flag as Imperator Messer X passed. He had the perfect view when the stadium exploded, sending rubble and chaos across the city. The destruction of Khanos Stadium killed Dunlow’s mother and gravely wounded his father. They, like many Angeli residents, had been required to attend the stadium’s opening ceremony.^[2]
