Pyxis [AXELSPACE]
Pyxis is a micro-satellite developed by Axelspace as demonstration of their AxelLiner service to host customer payloads on their satellites.
This first demonstration satellite will be used for the development and in-orbit experimental study of versatile satellite systems and automated operation systems, as well as establishment of a satellite manufacturing system by a Spacecraft Manufacturing Alliance. These are the three cornerstones of AxelLiner. For versatile satellite systems, they build software-oriented satellite bus systems that are highly variable and flexible enough to adapt to the changing times. The automated (unattended) operation system will be an evolution of the operation system developed by AxelGlobe to improve UX/UI. The satellite manufacturing system will be undertaken with the Spacecraft Manufacturing Alliance to validate the concept of digital manufacturing in remote factories and to construct a manufacturing environment to enable scalable satellite manufacturing.
Pyxis was to demonstrate following technologies on orbit:
After launch, contact was initially established, but was lost on 9 March. In October 2024 it was declared, that the mission was not recoverable.
